# OpenAir Addon

> OpenAir free live channels — /cover, Live TV prerequisite, refresh flow, playlist slug.

**OpenAir** (`addon.openair`) is a Streamly **streaming addon** — a catalog playback source.

Imports a free public live playlist (famelack / tvgarden-style data), grouped by country. **Requires** [Live TV](/plugins/live-tv).

## At a glance

| | |
| - | - |
| **Addon ID** | `addon.openair` |
| **Kind** | `live_playlist` |
| **Requires** | `features.live_tv` |
| **Playlist slug** | `src-openair` |
| **Source key** | `openair` |
| **Discover** | Yes |

## How it works

### OpenAir flow

| Step | What happens |
| - | - |
| **1** | Enable [Live TV](/plugins/live-tv) plugin |
| **2** | Install **OpenAir** from `/admin/streaming-providers` |
| **3** | Refresh / install streams (`/api/v1/live/openair/*`) |
| **4** | Curate channels in `/admin/catalog?tab=live-tv` |
| **5** | Viewers watch on `/live` |

Refresh replaces the OpenAir-backed slice with currently working public streams.

## Setup guide

<Steps>
  <Step title="Enable Live TV">[Live TV plugin](/plugins/live-tv) first.</Step>
  <Step title="Install OpenAir">`/admin/streaming-providers`.</Step>
  <Step title="Refresh">Use install/refresh (APIs under `/api/v1/live/openair/*`).</Step>
  <Step title="Curate">`/admin/catalog?tab=live-tv`.</Step>
  <Step title="Viewer">Open `/live`.</Step>
</Steps>

## Tips

* Public streams break — refresh periodically.
* For proprietary channels, import your own lists instead of relying only on OpenAir.
